Welcome to Geneva Cobb Iijima's website!

Welcome to my website. I'm happy you chose to visit. If you came to my home, I'd serve you a glass of lemonade or a cup of hot tea, we'd sit and get acquainted. Since you visited my site, I'll tell you about myself, and I hope you'll send me a note about yourself.

My Writing: I view people of all sorts, sizes and nationalities as having great value. I write to help them toward fulfilling their God given mission in life. I write for both adults and children because I love people at all stages of life.

School Visits and Speaking: I'm always delighted to visit schools talk about writing, Japan, or teach origami.

My Family: My husband, Peter, and I have four adult children, and six grandchildren. Pete was born and grew up in Japan, and our family is very international. We have a lovely daughter-in-law from India, two Indian grandchildren and one Ethiopian grandchild. One of our sons lives in Japan with his family; we have a daughter who ministers in Israel and one daughter who lives here in Oregon with her family.

Eden Health Ministries: My husband and I also operate a health ministry and teach classes on healthy living. For more information on this, you may go to www.edenhealthministries.com.

The Way We Do It In Japan tells the story of Gregory, whose Japanese father is transferred from San Francisco to Tokyo. Gregory and his mom stand in wide-eyed surprise as they experience a series of unexpected situations, learning about The Way We Do It In Japan. Their transition to the Japanese way of life is amusing, factual and informative.

Christmas Origami

Christmas origami is relatively new. That’s because the art of origami comes out of historic Japan, which is Buddhist. There was no need for Christmas origami years ago in Japan.

Wanted: One Trombone

When I was just a little kid, I'd look at Dad's old trombone case on a basement shelf and dream. Someday I would learn to play that trombone!

That day finally came, in fifth grade I began my lessons at school on the old trombone. I loved it, and practiced every night. The fact that the case was old and the tone of the horn wasn't very good didn't bother me - at first.

I am the author of three books, including The Way We Do It In Japan and The First Christmas in Origami, as well as authoring activity books for children. My publishing credits include more than 65 credits in adult magazines such as Guideposts, Focus on the Family and The San Diego Press. I have also published more than 30 articles in youth publications, including Odyssey, Highlights for Children, Cricket, Brio, Counselor, and many more.
