At the last Oregon Christian Writers One Day Conference before the pandemic, I met Sarah Sundin, the speaker. Sarah and I had been friends on Facebook, so it was fun to meet her in person. Also, I was eager to learn from her, as she, like me, writes about World War II. Her books are well-researched fiction with a touch of romance that carries readers along. I write true experiences of those who rescued Jews and other endangered peoples during the war.
I bought her most recent book, The Land Beneath Us, Sunrise at Normandy. Wow! What a suspenseful story about a young Army private who has a recurring death dream which he believes to be his destiny until….
Sarah has drawn on stories from her grandfather and uncle’s World War II experiences—in addition to lots of research for her thirteen books. She has four series’ of three books each and a stand-alone book. I’m looking to buy copies of a Christmas novella collection called Where Treetops Glisten for my granddaughters this year.
