One of the chapters in my book, Torch of Courage, is called, “Triumph of Hans and Sophie Scholl.” It tells the story of two university students that founded a resistance organization called The White Rose during WWII. This riveting story of young people who risked everything to expose Hitler’s lies to the German people issues a clarion call for both youth and adults today to boldly stand for the truth. Recently I was told of a novel based on the lives of these same young people. I’m reading it and loving it, even though I’ve already researched and written about the Scholl siblings’ lives. I think you’d enjoy it too. Of course, I can hardly wait for my book to come out. Then you can read the stories of fifteen heroes who worked to save the lives of those Hitler wanted to exterminate.
